Job Description

As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will work closely with the Healthcare team to provide pharmacy services within the scope of a registered pharmacist. You will play a key role in ensuring safe and effective care for patients within the correctional setting.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate and manage primary healthcare pharmacy services for inmates

Support clinical assessments, care planning, and discharge processes

Mentor and guide new staff, ensuring best practice standards

Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver quality services

Assist in risk assessments, patient support, and harm minimisation strategies

Participate in quality improvement projects and policy development

Maintain comprehensive clinical documentation in line with facility requirements

Qualifications

Current unconditional AHPRA registration as a Pharmacist

Minimum 2 years post-registration experience in hospital or community pharmacy (full-time or part-time equivalent)

Experience in customer service, hospital, or forensic/correctional settings (desirable)

Proficiency with electronic pharmacy or health management systems (desirable)

Strong oral and written communication skills

Ability to prioritise and manage competing demands

Capacity to work effectively with multiple stakeholders

Comprehensive probity assessment including Federal Police Check
